The part I enjoy most of my professional work is the ideation, framing and strategy of projects. I believe that is where I express the best of my qualities and lateral thinking. Normally, when I tackle a topic or a project, the ideas, risks, assumptions and business models build up in my head in a disorderly — sometimes chaotic — way. In some cases days go by during which, so to speak, I "chew on" the idea; then, when I am ready, I put it down on what I call my "little drawings". These sketches give me a complete, rational view of the project in all — or almost all — of its components, and I usually produce them in 2–4 hours: everything is already worked out in my head.
